Anastasia (Ann) M. Walley, a.k.a. Mom-Mom/Notchy/Teta and Notch to those who knew and loved her most, passed away on September 30 ^th at 9:30 am. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. William J. Walley and her daughter, local Lehigh Valley Artist Pauline Ann Wood. Born in Tamaqua, She was the last remaining child of the late Stephan and Anelia (Dziuban) Matusic and therefore the Matriarch of our family.

Mom-Mom was born on Veterans day 1923, fitting as she was extremely patriotic, never missing an opportunity to vote and could tell you everything that was happening in the world.  She spent some time working in her local VA office during World War II and received a wallet sized card from them commemorating her service, which she has carried with her since. Proud of her accomplishments as a Supervisor of the MicroChip Division at Bell Labs for 36 years, she retired in 1988. A devout catholic, she enjoyed watching Sunday morning Mass at the Vatican, going to the casino to play slots and she loved to cook every day.  Reading vogue magazine, shopping at Macy's or just playing on her Ipad, she truly was a well rounded woman.

Ann was perhaps the kindest, most generous and giving soul this Earth has ever known. Even near the end she was only concerned about her loved ones, that they not worry about her own pain. She had a special way about her that allowed her to connect with anyone from every walk of life. Those that had the privilege of meeting her will miss her terribly, and for those of us who survive her she's left a hole that can never be filled.

Survivors include Grandsons, Damian Andrew Wood and wife Laila S. Khoury-Wood, with whom she last resided, and Jonas Michael Wood. Her Niece and Best Friend Margaret Hill, as well as other Nieces, Nephews, and Great and Grand Nieces and Nephews and many, many friends.
