Alton P. Wood, 95, of Sinking Spring, passed away on November 17, 2018.
He had honorably served in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his return stateside, he made his home in Baltimore, Maryland where he worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Additionally, Alton was a successful entrepreneur in various family businesses around Maryland. Following his retirement and move to Sinking Spring, Alton enjoyed his role as school crossing guard in the Wilson School System for many years.
Alton was preceded in death by his loving wife, Velma Smart Wood.
He is lovingly remembered by his surviving family: his son, Richard Wood of New York, New York, his daughter, Barbara Wood Katchur of Collegeville Pennsylvania, his twin grandsons, Dr. Steven Katchur of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and Michael S. Katchur of Charlotte North, Carolina, and sister in law, Tena Smart Beauchamp of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
Private services will be arranged at a future date.
