Alma Brunner Davis, 98, passed away peacefully at her home in Coopersburg on Saturday, May 27, 2023. She was born in Arkansas City, Kansas. Shortly after, her family moved to Sacramento, California where she completed Junior College in 1955. In August of 1955, she married Ney LaVerne Davis and enjoyed 37 years of marriage until his passing in 1992.

On Alma's 20th birthday she joined the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Services), during WWII and served in Washington D.C during the Korean War.

Alma was a caring and compassionate woman who served as a Girl Scout Leader and raised two foster boys. She also volunteered at Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital, Southern Lehigh Public Library, and the Lower Milford Fire Company.

Alma enjoyed traveling, camping, and golfing. She loved to spend time working on family genealogy, watching the Waltons, and hosting card parties. She was also a gifted seamstress who made many creations for family and friends.

Alma was a pioneering woman who obtained her pilot license in 1947. She also copyrighted her mothers memoir of her life in Yosemite in a book called "Cliffs and Challenges".

It is fitting that we honor Alma during her passing on Memorial Day weekend, as she was one of the last remaining women veterans from the "Greatest Generation".

Alma is survived by her two daughters Stephanie and Yvonne Davis.

Professional services are entrusted to Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, Inc. in Coopersburg. A Public Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, 101B North Main Street, Coopersburg, PA 18036. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA 18104.
