Obituary

Alexander S. Lemheney, after enjoying 94 years died peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home in Bethlehem. Born on March 17 in Honey Brook, Chester County, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel S. and Wilhelmina Lemheney. He was married for 39 years to his loving wife Ann who died in 1988. He had worked for 27 years at General Acceptance Corporation, retiring in 1984 from management. During World War II he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an honorary member of the First Defenders. Known to his friends as "Al", he enjoyed traveling extensively through North America and Europe visiting friends, family, and making new acquaintances. He enjoyed frequent social events at local senior centers and community gatherings. Al was an avid hunter, golfer, and fisherman. He was an exceptional grandfather who loved every minute he spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors: Al is survived by his daughter Ann and son-in-law Robert of Grand Blanc, MI; son Alexander and son-in-law David of Center Valley, PA; grandchildren Alison, Daniel, Christopher and step-grandson Christopher; and his sister Betty of Downingtown, PA.

Services: Al is a member of Saint Thomas More church at 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown, where a service will be held on Friday May 3rd at 10:00; burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
