Adoline "Lina" (Ratz) Hude, 98, of Allentown, PA passed away on November 18, 2025 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Alfred Hude to whom she was married for 51 years until his passing in 1998. Born in Bartensee, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Adolf and Eva (Rach) Ratz. Adoline and her late husband, Alfred, emigrated from Wolfsburg, Germany to the U.S. in 1952 and settled in Allentown becoming U.S. citizens.
Adoline worked as an upholsterer and retired after many years from Jackson Allen Upholstery. She had a deep faith and was a member of the German congregation of the former St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was Vice President of the Frauenverein (Ladies Aid). She enjoyed cooking and baking at the church with her friends for many church functions including the annual Oktoberfest. Her life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, friends and her church. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking, reupholstering furniture and crocheting. She took pride in her beautiful indoor plants, vegetable garden, and outdoor flowers; most especially her roses.
She is survived by her children, Karl Hude (Marie); Rex Hude (Yvonne); Rosemarie Scherer (Edward); and William Hude (Gina); grandchildren, Katrina Hude (Joseph), Heather DiBiaso (Eric), Kyle Hude, Janelle Augustadt (Ramsey), Blake Scherer, Felicia Hude (Bradley) and Cassandra Guerrieri (John); great-grandchildren Paige, Dayton, Carson, Kylie, Kenzie, Daniella, Audrey, Luca, Julian, Jaxon, Pierson and Camille; sister Maria Galler in Germany; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sons Manfred and Bernhard Hude; granddaughter Molly Hude; brothers Adolf, Heinrich and Wilhelm Ratz; sister Olga Holzke.
Services: A viewing will be held at Weber Funeral Home 502 Ridge Ave., in Allentown on Tuesday November 25, 2025 starting at 10:00 AM to be followed by a Service at 11:00AM Officiated by Pastor Gordon Camp, to be followed by a Burial Service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Route 873, Schnecksville, PA 18078 or to a charity of one's choice.
